Mother's Day

Mother's Day. This is the day we celebrate our Mother's. I love my mom. She taught me well. I have good moral fiber, good work ethic, an appreciation for reading, the arts, for good health. I am not saying that my relationship with my Mom is perfect. Oh, baby, far from it. But at the end of the day, I love her and appreciate her. She has some issues, but then, don't we all?

I love being a mom! It is my life's great work. My daughters are wonderful. I may have been a bit over protective, a little over bearing, but I realize that it was for me, I was these things. I tried my best to teach them well, morals, love, compassion, empathy, their great worth. For the most part, they have made good choices, and for the choices which weren't so good, they have paid the consequences. I think you must teach them they have consequences to their choices, be they good or bad. They are the consequences which they chose, they are theirs to own. . . .I am proud of my girls. Both grown women now. One with children of her own. One who is struggling with infertility. Both with their own trials, triumphs, loves. . . . Wonderful women, whom I raised. I am satisfied, yes, satisfied that I did the best I could with them, imparting my wisdom, giving them love, self esteem, encouragement. I am proud to be called mom. It is my favorite career!

So on this Mother's Day, I say thank you to my mom, to my daughters and to my husband without him, I would not have had the opportunity to be Mom!
